Frequently
Asked Questions
Are
there any career opportunities in Document Evidence Ltd ?
Document
Evidence is a very small company and recruits only on rare occasions.
We are unlikely to be recruiting anyone in the near future. Most
Forensic Science vacancies are advertised on the New Scientist
web site.
What
Academic Qualifications are Required in order to become a Forensic
Scientist ?
The
minimum requirement to become a case-reporting forensic scientist
(i.e. one who gives evidence in court) is a good first degree
in a science subject. While most forensic scientists have biology
or chemistry degrees, this is not a prerequisite as the detailed
training is done once the successful candidate is in post. A number
of universities now offer courses in Forensic Science however,
these are not an essential requirement at the moment.
Some
of the larger Forensic Science employers in this country also
recruit assistant Forensic Scientists. For this position the usual
requirement is at least four good passes at GSCE, including English
and a Science subject, and at least one A-level in a science subject.
Do
you have work experience placements ?
Document
Evidence, along with most other forensic science suppliers, is
unable to offer any work experience placements.
Can
you help me with financial support for my university degree ?
Document
Evidence is unable to provide any financial support, nor are we
aware of any other organisation that can do so.
