Fingerprint
Treatment or Document Examination?
one
of the examinations performed by the Document Examiner prevent
subsequent fingerprint treatment.
Documents
should always be sent to us before they are fingerprinted if you
need any of the following types of examination to be undertaken:
- Examination
for indented handwriting
- Ink comparisons
- Detection
of alterations
- Determining
the order in which intersecting lines have been written
- Examination
of physical fits
- Examination
of counterfeit documents
- Comparison
of handwriting which was written with a fountain pen or fibre
tipped pen.
If any document
is to be treated for fingerprints after we have examined it indicate
this clearly on the submission form. If documents are submitted
to us after they have been treated for fingerprints they are easier
to examine if:
- They are
not mounted in albums
- They have
been laminated
- There are
no fingerprint labels obscuring any handwriting.
